How does the tool work?
The calculator uses scientifically approved formulas:
- BMI: Measures the ratio of weight to height (weight / height²).
- BMR: The number of calories your body burns at complete rest (Mifflin-St Jeor).
- TDEE: Total Daily Energy Expenditure = BMR × Activity Factor.
Frequently Asked Questions
An indicator that measures the proportion of your weight to your height. Normal values are between 18.5 and 24.9. Below 18.5 means underweight, above 25 means overweight, and above 30 means obesity.
BMR is the calories your body burns at complete rest (only for vital functions). TDEE is the total calories including daily activity (walking, sports, etc.).
Usually, you subtract 500 calories from TDEE to lose about 0.5 kg per week. The tool automatically shows you the appropriate value (with a safe minimum of 1200 calories).
The calculations are based on scientific averages (Mifflin-St Jeor), which is the most accurate. However, individual results may vary slightly depending on genetic factors, muscle mass, etc.
